Risk Assessment is a systematic process used to identify hazards, evaluate the likelihood and severity of potential incidents, and implement appropriate control measures before work begins.
Every industrial activity—including electrical maintenance, working at height, confined space entry, lifting operations, hot work, and chemical handling—should begin with a comprehensive risk assessment. By identifying hazards in advance, organizations can significantly reduce injuries, equipment damage, environmental incidents, and costly downtime.
International safety standards recommend applying the Hierarchy of Controls, which prioritizes eliminating hazards, substituting safer alternatives, implementing engineering controls, establishing administrative procedures, and finally using personal protective equipment (PPE).
